The ’23 Island’ rapper, whose real name is Javarious Scott, was busted by police while hiding in the attic after reportedly beating his pregnant girlfriend.
JayDaYoungan a.k.a. Javarious Scott has been arrested for alleged domestic violence. The rapper was found hiding in the attic on Thursday, February 6 when police executed a felony arrest warrant on the Louisiana-born star.
The Precinct 4 Constables Office shared images of his arrest on its social media accounts. “#BREAKING Javorius Scott AKA @JayDaYoungan arrested on family domestic abuse warrant in North Harris County this afternoon by @Pct4Constable,” read the caption of the Twitter post. “He’s accused of hitting a pregnant woman. I’m told he was found hiding in an attic. Sources tell me cash was also seized from the home.”
Police reportedly found several firearms and $24,000 in cash in his home at 1400 block of Rocky Glen Lane. He was allegedly also in possession of numerous illicit substances, including oxycodone, promethazine and marijuana.
Following the findings at his home, JayDaYoungan is now facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office website confirms he’s still in custody. His bond has been set at $20,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, February 10.
JayDaYoungan has been accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend. Details regarding the alleged assault have not been revealed though.
This is not the first time JayDaYoungan has a run-in with the law. In May 2019, he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance without a prescription after being pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol in Gadsden County, Florida. When pulled over, police officers found 20 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and oxycodone pills. He was released a day later on a $2,500 bail, but has not stood trial for the said charge.
In late last year, he made headlines after a video surfaced online, showing him being involved in an altercation during his performance in North Carolina. Someone appeared to snatch his chain while he was walking off stage. In another clip that emerged shortly after, someone was on FaceTime while flaunting the rapper’s chain. “Tell him come get his s**t,” the person on the line yelled out.
Despite the videos, JayDaYoungan denied that someone snatched the chain off his neck. “Don’t believe the hype n****s scary af fr , Reach for sum s**t then try to run !” he wrote on Twitter. The “Elimination” rapper claimed that the person picked the chain from the floor once he left the venue, “DONT even get it but wait til my security pull me out the club my s**t fall & y’all pick it up. H** a** s**t.”
