Everybody knows that Eminem, Madonna, Tim Allen and Kid Rock are Michiganders born and raised.  But what about some of the lesser known celebrities or celebrities that happen to have been born here but then moved away?  Here is a list of 5 celebrities you didn’t know were from Michigan.

Francis Ford Coppola

The brainchild behind the Godfather series of movies, Francis Ford Coppola was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1939. However, despite being born in Michigan, he was raised in a New York suburb. [source]

The WWE and WCW Superstar, Kevin Nash, was a Michigan baby.  He was born in Detroit in 1959 and grew up in the area, graduating from Aquinas High School and then moving to Tennessee for college. [source]

J.K. Simmons

You might not know who he is by his name but as soon as you see his picture you know that you’ve seen him dozens of times on TV and the big screen.  J.K. Simmons was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan in 1955 and lived there until he was 10 when his family moved to a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. [source]
